Back to black: smarter, faster, stronger

Hello, everyone!

The Amazu blog became too small for my own thoughts, so I decided to come back here to post some goodies too. More personal stuff, you know.

In April I’ll be turning 27. And like in the beginning of every year, I’m setting a goal for 2012. This is going to be the year where I come out and play - I baked my cake for quite a while now, and now’s the time to share it with the world. And hopefully, I’ll achieve the consistency I need for that to happen, like, for example, post regularly on all the blogs and keep production constant. This is like the cherries on a chocolate cake, the cake is still good but it becomes so much more attractive with the cherries!

Is any of this making any sense?

Since I stopped posting on this blog last time (lots of months ago) much has been accomplished. Like:

Light Apprentice - The Game: By far my biggest accomplishment of last semester. You can play the alpha version right now, you only need to install a quick plugin. I hope you like it! We started a crowdfunding campaign because we really need money to continue making this game and make it as we want it, with animated cinematics, improved graphics and some crazy features, so if you have as little as two bucks to help, head here to help us make this game awesome and get some rewards. And of course, I’d like to mention here the great Amazu crew, great people that poured their hearts into making this, without which the game could not have been so great.

Kayafixa: a political comic, protesting against the way the Brazilian government sees “development”. They want to kill all the native people, little by little, while engulfing the population in a dream world with their soap operas and fake news. It feels great to be using my talent to express myself, so expect more if I have any spare time this year. Read it here.

New issues of Blazing Squids: they’ll keep coming. With a big surprise! Maybe two. Read the latest issue.

Cannon Birds: the band only played two concerts last semester, because things were really crazy in our personal lives, we got a new drummer, etc. But we got new songs and it’s been cooll playing with the guys. No recordings were made yet, or at least not uploaded. I’m thinking about making another band to run along with the Birds, but let’s see how it goes.

What now?

The year is just starting, so expect much more, in all fronts. I hope you have a great 2012 and that you tag along!

- Igor
